Ian and Whitney are some of the most authentic and talented people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. They are both very artistic (all the art you see is their own), and I love spending time in their cozy home. They have two fur babies; Meow Meow and Midnight Egg Roll. I had the opportunity to shoot a lifestyle session in their home…just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you must freeze in knee deep snow to capture a session. No amount of props would have done this couple justice, so it only made sense to capture the two of them in their cozy, warm home.
Fall time is a fun time for family pictures. I am always in awe of all of the many colors around. It makes for a beautiful backdrop for family pictures. I was excited to get out of the sugar beet truck and go take pictures of this adorable family! They were a dream to photograph.
I had a lot of fun getting to know these kiddos better. The parents are friends from back when I was in college, and I was so glad to be able to reconnect with them. The dad was my student teacher in an Agricultural electrical class. Yes, I said Agricultural electrical class. (I like to fix things, and I love the farm life 😉 ) He encouraged a guy in the class to take me on a date, and then the rest was history. That guy ended up marrying me. So I like to say that because of them, I am married to an amazing farmer. Thanks again you two!!
It has been forever since we have seen each other. Forever as in our oldest kids were just little guys the last time we were together. It always surprises me how fast time flys when you are raising a family and lose contact with friends. We plan on getting together again to catch up even more.
During this photo session, I loved seeing this family connect during their pictures. The funny faces, poses, beautiful smiles and love they had for each other made me smile. I had such a hard time narrowing down images for them to choose from because I wanted them to have a good laugh or two while going thru the selection process. And these kids can make you laugh with their funny poses.
Ok, enough talking from me….check out their family pictures. From family fun, twin love, to an adorable daddy-daughter picture.
Thanks again you two for everything! From encouraging that first date with a cute guy many years ago, to having me take your family photos. It was so great seeing you!
I look forward to seeing this family every year. Great family, amazing kids, and I think it’s fairly obvious how photogenic they are, right? I can’t get over how handsome and beautiful these kids are, and I loved their photos together. This time of year always makes everyone think of family….and food. I’ve learned something very important this week about family. My siblings are the greatest. We have a unique connection with each other, and in our adult age have become so much closer. Growing up we had our fair share of fights (especially over “the invisible line” when in a car, bed, couch). I don’t know what I would do without them now. I love you Nat, Ian, and Chazz….life is better with the three of you. Love your siblings!
Happy birthday to one of my most amazing, beautiful, awesome mom, and super talented best friends. Today is the day that I look forward to all year. The day that I get to share adorable yet somewhat embarrassing photos of her to everyone!! Lucky for her, the embarrassing ones seem to have vanished from my external hard drive. 😉 To be honest, it was a crazy day that I didn’t have time to look for too many embarrassing photos. So I will just share a few of my favorite.
Now let’s talk about this girl and her talents. She has an amazing eye for photography. Always has, always will. She is very skilled with her camera….you should see her straight out of camera images! We always have so much fun shooting together. And when we get in front of a computer together to edit…..watch out!!! You better believe that we have a few tricks to teach each other.
This girl is truly a great example to me and if you know her, truly know her, you would feel the same way. As like all of us, she has been faced with many challenges in life. I admire her for always being the bigger person. She never retaliates, when she has ever reason too. Ok, well there was that ONE time. 😉 I am sure that she has no clue that I admire her as much as I do for this, but she has inspired and helped me realize that it pays to be the bigger person. I absolutely hate to see her go thru the things that she has, but she knows that we can always have a good cry together, and then we come up with a solution. Heather isn’t much of crying..that’s how tough she is! I truly appreciate her friendship and honesty. I love who I am around her, and hope that I can repay her with all she has taught and encouraged me with. I love you tons Heather. Have for years, and will for years. Happy Birthday!
Had to re-post these two pictures because they are my favorite!
To top this post off, I want to also tell her beautiful twin sister Natalie Happy Birthday too! Happy Birthday to you twinners!
It’s time once again for me to dig deep into my external hard drive in search of the most flattering, slightly embarrassing, true to life, photos of Kayla for her birthday post. Our friendship has stood the test of time, and we have had our fair share of challenges. Opposites in nearly every way, we manage to balance each other out. I am in awe of her perfect bow tying, and boutonniere pinning abilities. She supports me in even the most crazy and messy of shoot ideas, with only the occasional eye roll. Kayla has been a driving force in my life for the last year, and I cannot think of a time when she (and her family) have not helped me when I was in need. We have spent hours painting, hanging batting, cleaning up flood water, repainting, computer sitting, wedding shooting, remodeling, and visiting over sushi. She has been a constant in my life, and is a great example of what love and service look like. I love today, because it gives me the opportunity to sit and reflect on just how lucky I am to have a friend like Kayla. Writing this post always just about brings me to tears when I think of all the experiences we have shared over the last year. I hope you have an amazing birthday (getting whatever power tool you have your eyes on) and that you realize how much you mean to everyone around you. Happy Birthday my friend!
