Mr. Eli

I absolutely love when this guys beautiful Momma brings her kids in for photo sessions!  I have loved to watch each of her children grow, and capture their pictures.  This little guy just kills me in adorableness!  He is so sweet and fun in front of the camera, and MAN what a little stud muffin!  I absolutely love his adorable Miracle baby shirt below.  He is definitely a little miracle due to heart issues when he was born.  So glad he is here to make his family complete!

Scratch and Sniff Photos Would be Perfect Right Now.

I love the mornings when I get to photograph Bindweed Farm. I love being able to wander around acres and acres of blooming plants and flowers. I wish so much I could make the entire season of flowers into scratch and sniff stickers, it would be amazing! The farm is filled with so many wonderful fragrances and each time I bend down to capture a flower, I take a moment to just breathe in the scent. When the lavender started blooming I was in heaven! I have also thoroughly enjoyed getting to expand my very limited knowledge of flowers, and feel a little surge of pride when I can identify the flowers in my yard. Ralph and Jeriann have built a beautiful business together and I am always impressed at their efficiency, talent, and kindness.

Dustin and Whitney

Dustin and Whitney wanted something timeless and clean for their engagement session, and I love how they turned out. Shooting on a solid background was a nice way to focus on Dustin and Whitney and their interaction with each other, rather than loads of background distraction that can happen on location from time to time. They are an adorable couple and I really applaud their outfit choices, simple and flattering. Congrats to you both, and thank you again!

Summer is so many things….

I love summer. I love the sun, the adventures, the water, the colors; the list goes on and on. I love summer so much that I have really, really, really neglected the leyyblog and all social media in general. I have let go of trying so hard to have a social media presence and instead, replace it with real life friends, moments, and connections (not the internet kind). Summer has been a wide range of emotions for me and my little family. I am so grateful for friendship and love I have found from friends, both new and old. I can’t promise I’ll be posting more, but I can say with certainty that this has been one amazing summer and I feel closer to people than I ever did scrolling through my social media feeds. That’s not to say that I don’t occasionally see what fun all of you have been up to, and I envy those of you who mange to take time from the chaos to share your adventures with everyone. Sometimes seeing those photos make me so happy that life is good to you, even if I don’t always take the time to like, love, or comment on your social media life, I can tell you that it does make my heart happy to see the smiles of your little ones and you enjoying summer and life together. I will slowly be playing catch up in sharing sessions and personal adventures with you, and it will probably be on the windy and rainy days of our short summer. I am looking out the window next to my computer and all I see is golden grain. Summer is coming to an end faster then we want to admit, so get out there and enjoy the summer with those who you hold dear, it’s what makes life so great (even on the windy and rainy days).

Speaking of lovely summer days, here are Rebecca and Seth’s engagement photos from this spring (I warned you it was catch up time). It was so great to meet them and I swear I can almost smell the lilacs just looking at these images. Enjoy!

Why do babies have to grow up so fast? It feels like yesterday I was photographing sweet little Avery’s newborn session, and now is one! She was adorable for her session and I loved her big personality in that tiny little body. Thanks to her parents for bringing her back to the studio!
